TLT, a law firm that is among the top 50 firms in the UK, approached Eatcake to work with them on an evolution of their corporate identity and internal and external communications.

A corporate identity and system of communication for a unique, year-round film festival.

The festival presents screenings, talks and workshops thoughout the year, often in locations specific to the theme of the film. The corporate identity includes variations of the new logo that highlight different series within the festival.

New Bristol charity Many Minds asked us to design them a logo.

Many Minds use performance as a way for people experiencing mental ill health to improve confidence, self esteem and social networks in a creative environment.

The logo demonstrates that the charity operates in a grassroots, non-hierarchical and collaborative way and the work is often full of play and experimentation. A safe structure in which an element of chaos and anarchy can be expressed.

Eatcake Design worked with longstanding client Brandon Trust to develop a distinctive theme for their new shops.

The charity shops of Gloucester Road and Cotham Hill in Bristol are some of the best and busiest in the country. Brandon Trust wanted to enter this competitive market and asked Eatcake Design to help them apply their branding effectively.

Collaborating with a superb and creative retail team, we raised the bar for the shopping experience in the charity sector.

"Eatcake were involved with the design of our first shop which opened on Cotham Hill in 2015.

They helped us to set the tone and style of our pilot store, with contemporary twists and ideas that challenged what people expected of us as a charity.

Together I think we have shown the good people of Bristol that donated goods can be displayed in an interesting and modern way, and there's nothing to stop us being just as on trend and innovative as other high street retailers.

We get complimented on the quality of our stock and the way in which it is presented in the surroundings we have created on a daily basis, and that all started with this shop!

From our exposed fixtures and stripped back feature wall, industrial fittings and retro lighting, and our signature 'Big B' light box, the shop is full of themes and touches that we have kept running through our subsequent shops and continue to make us stand out from the crowd.

I loved working with Jon because his vision of what the shop could be was so similar to my own, we even had similar mood boards at our first meeting, and I knew we would create something exciting together!

He was also a great support to me, working on a project of this scale for the first time I needed all the guidance I could get, and I really felt listened to when we had to compromise design and practicality. Jon respected my expertise and I felt confident in his and we came to some great solutions.

I also felt that Jon had a connection to what we were doing as an organisation which also made a difference to the way we worked.

Edward Drummond are a recruitment and headhunting agency that operates globally.

They asked Eatcake Design to update their corporate identity and refresh and reorganise their website. We used the identity to inform the interior design of their refitted office space.

The Care Forum coordinate and support community volunteering and give a voice to people who need to raise issues about health services. 

Eatcake have been designing the Care Forum's annual reports since 2009. The reports not only convey the necessary legal information about the charity but also keep people up-to-date with key issues in the sector.

This year the Care Forum wanted the conversation to be about volunteering. Eatcake Design suggested a set of illustrations highlighting the benefits of being a volunteer. These have been used in an annual report mini-site and as the visual theme for their annual conference.

Young Carers Development Trust support young people who are struggling to keep up with their education because of the time they spend caring for a relative. Mentoring and support services allow YCDT's clients to fulfil their ambitions despite their challenging circumstances.

In 1999 Eatcake were appointed by Triodos Bank, an ethical bank based in the Netherlands, to design their customer communication literature for the UK. Since then Triodos has become a household name and the touchstone for ethical banking.

In 2005 Eatcake Design were asked to develop an identity for Tom Russell Architects, an up-and-coming architectural practice in Bristol. Over the years the business has grown in size and reputation, working on national and international projects.

In 2014 Tom Russell and Vicky Emmett, who had collaborated for several years, officially joined together under the name of Emmett Russell Architects. Eatcake Design were once again called in to develop the visual identity for the business which we applied to both printed materials and a new website.

The Crisis Centre works with homeless people in Bristol to meet their immediate needs and to help them get their lives back on track.

Eatcake Design were approached by The Crisis Centre's communications team to redesign their printed materials, including a quarterly magazine, to enthuse and engage supporters and stakeholders.

The National Network of School Site Staff provides support and training for non-academic school staff, primarily caretakers.

They approached us to design a logo and simple brand identity. The blackbird was chosen to represent the early rising staff on which every school depends.

Our approach was to take their well-established and idiosyncratic name and add visual gravitas and simplicity, reflecting the agency's significant skill and experience in their field.

A new branding for Tortworth Estate’s award-winning retail and catering businesses in rural Gloucestershire. All areas of the business provide excellent products sourced from the Estate and carefully chosen local suppliers.

Eatcake designed a suite of logos, one for each strand of the business, as part of a cohesive new visual system. The new identity demonstrates Tortworth Estate’s traditional rural values as well as the quality and appeal of their products.

Eatcake Design worked with the founders of ice cream makers Forest & Wye to develop their visual identity and packaging design. The business was a start-up with no existing visual style.

The aim was to demonstrate Forest and Wye’s local roots in the Forest of Dean, and the fact they are focussed on using innovative local ingredients and 100% compostable packaging materials.

Brigstowe Project are a Bristol based charity offering support to people living with HIV. They engaged us to design their annual report, which doubles as their main piece of communication material throughout 2017.

We subsequently designed a range of fundraising materials in a complimentary style.

Redmaids' is the oldest girls' school in the UK. Eatcake Design was asked to redevelop its brand identity after winning a competitive pitch outlining our design and strategy proposals.

Brandon Trust is a national charity with its headquarters in Bristol, and a longstanding client of Eatcake Design.

To mark the occasion of its 20th anniversary, they commissioned an exhibition of portraits documenting the experiences of 20 of the people who have been helped by them over the last 20 years. Eatcake Design were asked to develop a visual identity for the exhibition which included designing the space, the panels and all the supporting publicity materials. 

The exhibition was a resounding success and was featured in The Guardian newspaper as well as on TV, radio and digital media.

A brand identity and marketing material for The Daffodil Restaurant in Cheltenham, which was implemented alongside a complete refurbishment.

The restaurant is housed in a former art deco cinema with some extraordinary original features which influenced the brand identity. Immediately after the new-look Daffodil opened, bookings increased dramatically. Eatcake continue to work on various design projects for the restaurant including a complimentary identity for the bar, literature for their extensive jazz programme, menus and advertising.

As the Daffodil enters an exciting new phase of development with the expansion of the bar, restaurant and the addition of a delicatessen, Eatcake Design are once again at the heart of managing the visual expressions of the brand.

Our collaboration with Mojo Active was a particularly satisfying and exciting project. Eatcake Design initially designed a logo, along with t-shirt and sweatshirt designs.

Mojo Active quickly expanded its site and its offsite schools activity, leading to the design and build of a website and a full range of corporate literature. It's been great to see the success and the strength of the Mojo brand grow.

The Iron Ship by Ewan Corlett has been the definitive book about Brunel's ss Great Britain since it was first written in the 1970s.

Eatcake Design were chosen in a competitive pitch to update the book's design for the next generation. The 363 page volume was completed in close collaboration with the Special Projects Team at the ss Great Britain. The resulting dramatic increase in sales of the book has seen the story of Brunel's ship brought to an even wider audience.

ZeroC are an award-winning house developer with an emphasis on sustainable technology. The Glove Factory in Yeovil showcases the use of renewables to provide energy for a large number of residential properties.  Some meet the Level 5 requirements for sustainability, the highest achievable industry standard.

Eatcake Design won a competitive pitch to design a brand identity to be used on hoardings, a sales brochure and an exhibition explaining to the public the renewables technologies used in the houses.

Eatcake Design were appointed to develop a new identity for start-up business The Hamptons Delicatessen in the Cotswold town of Chipping Sodbury.

The resulting work included signage, deli labels, menu cards, menu boards, advertisements and gift vouchers and cards. The deli has thrived and expanded with Eatcake Design continuing to play a part in looking after the brand application.

Artvertise are a photographic studio in Germany working for leading international brands like Claas. They approached Eatcake Design to update their branding while retaining the themes of the original. 

Meade King are one of the longest-established firms of solicitors in Bristol. Eatcake redesigned their visual identity back in 1999.

The logo has stood the test of time and the partners unanimously voted to retain it after consulting on a rebrand project. This has given Eatcake the chance to breathe new life into the identity with the application of the branding to the firm's new offices in Welsh Back, Bristol. The result affirms the original aim of the logo, to create a mark that was both distinctive and timeless.

This document for Greenwich Leisure Limited, who promote participation in sport for everyone, needed to be visually appealing to match GLL's corporate style and clearly demonstrate the investment proposition.

The Brandon Trust are one of the key providers of support for people with learning difficulties in the South of England. Their philosophy is to help people with a learning difficulty to live as independently as they choose.

Eatcake Design were appointed graphic designers to Brandon Trust in 2007. In that time we have updated their brand identity, produced all their flagship communication materials and have been involved in the design of their last five annual reports, working in collaboration with The Guardian's Harry Venning (artist and writer of Clare in the Community).

Eatcake's design for 'Mark's Excellent Adventure' won top place in the Third Sector Excellence Awards 2014 Annual Report category. The report was described by the judges as: "a genuinely different idea, relevant to the audience and executed with love and care."
